An event more than 30 years in the making
In 1987, The Okura Tokyo marked its 25th anniversary by holding a prestigious classical music concert in the iconic lobby. In a tradition that continues to this day, concerts celebrating the hotel’s patronage of the arts are held on the 25th of every other month. On the hotel’s 50th anniversary, a special program was arranged by conductor Naoto Otomo. Now the hotel’s concert program director, Naoto began his career as a conductor for the NHK Symphony Orchestra at the age of 22 while still studying at Toho Gakuen College of Music. He is one of Japan’s leading conductors and has served as conductor for the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra. He especially enjoys promoting up-and-coming talent at the concerts.
Concerts are held on the 25th of every other month except for December, when we host a special Christmas Eve concert on the 24th.
The concert will be held in the iconic The Okura Prestige Tower lobby
Entry to the concert is free of charge but please be aware that seats are limited
